Diversity In the Community The DDSB invites all parents who self identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer with children in our schools to join us for an evening of dialogue. Participants will explore how we can ensure DDSB schools are welcoming places for you as well as our students.  More information.

School Access For the safety and security of our students, the school building is locked after the entry bell. All visitors are required to begin their visit at the main office. Please enter the school through the main doors at Marigold Avenue.  EVEN IF YOU ARE JUST ENTERING THE SCHOOL FOR A BRIEF MINUTE, ALL VISITORS, INCLUDING PARENTS, MUST REPORT TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE UPON ARRIVAL TO OBTAIN A VISITOR'S BADGE. Thank you for keeping our school a safe place to learn.
Kindergarten Pre-Registration Telephone pre-registration for our Kindergarten program is now taking place. If your child will be attending Beau Valley's Kindergarten program for the first time in September 2012, please phone the school to pre-register your child. All parents are asked to contact our school before April 2012. Visit our Kindergarten Registration page for more information.
French Immersion Registration Beginning in Grade 1, the Durham District School Board offers, at no additional charge to parents, a French Immersion program for non-Francophone students. If you would like to register your child for French Immersion, please contact your local French Immersion school for more information. To find out more about the French Immersion program, see the DDSB's  French Immersion Information Sheet.

Safe Arrival

Safe_ArrivalThe Safe Arrival program is an essential component to the safety of each pupil. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are responsible for communicating planned pupil absences or lateness to the school on a timely basis (Ontario Ministry of Education, Policy/Program Memorandum No. 123).

If your child is going to be absent, please inform the school ahead of time by either providing a written note in your child's agenda or by calling the Safe Arrival number. Our Safe Arrival number is available to families 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

When leaving a message, please be sure to leave your name, your child's name (spell last name if necessary), the name of your child's teacher, along with the reason and duration of the absence. We encourage you to call this number before 8:00 a.m. as the phone lines often become busy during the morning entry.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide this valuable service.
