Inclement Weather: The cancellation of school bus service is a decision that is made in cooperation with information and advice from many local service providers. Starting as early as 4:30 am Durham Student Transportation Services (DSTS) is in contact with the following groups: road crews for Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships, weather watchers in various parts of Durham Region along with representatives from the school bus companies.

The Safe Arrival program is an essential component to the safety of each pupil. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are responsible for communicating planned pupil absences or lateness to the school on a timely basis (Ontario Ministry of Education, Policy/Program Memorandum No. 123).

If your child is going to be absent, please inform the school ahead of time by either providing a written note in your child's agenda or by calling the Safe Arrival number. Our Safe Arrival number is available to families 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

When leaving a message, please be sure to leave your name, your child's name (spell last name if necessary), the name of your child's teacher, along with the reason and duration of the absence. We encourage you to call this number before 8:00 a.m. as the phone lines often become busy during the morning entry.
